Pale yellow colour, clear and bright. On the nose the wine is of medium intensity, with citrus aromas (lime zest), stone fruit, hints of white blossom, subtle cask and tertiary aromas. Fresh, with excellent acidity and pleasant tannins. A balanced, harmonious white wine.

Vineyard: Formed by the Montes Obarenes and rivers Oja and Tirón. The easternmost zone of Rioja through two little used, indigenous varieties, grown in an extreme climate with influences of Atlantic freshness. This vineyard the last place in Rioja to be harvested, Situated in Cuzcurrita, at an altitude of 450 m and with a north-south exposure and extreme Continental climate which preserves the white wine’s acidity and freshness. Shallow, alluvial and gravel soil with little moisture retention. Warm, favouring ripening through the absorption of temperature from the stones.
Vinification: Cold maceration of the Maturana Blanca, to favour the bright primary aromas and supple tannins of the variety. Fermentation in concrete vats and aged on the fine lees in concrete vats, amphora and 600 litre casks. Blended and aged in 225 litre French oak casks for 6 months and 12 months in the bottle

Viticulture The vineyard consist of 33 year old vines planted at a density of 5500 vines per hectare, on clay limestone and gravel soils. The East to West facing vineyards produce yields of up to 49 hl/ha. Grapes are machine harvested in September. Vinification Grapes are double manually sorted in both vineyard and winery, then subsequently destemmed but not crushed, going through a brief period of maceration on its skins before being pneumatically pressed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, and the wine goes through further maceration post fermentation. The wine is then matured in French 225L oak barrels for 15 months, of which 80% was new oak.
