- Vineyard: Sourced from Block K of the treasured Wilksch Vineyard in Marananga, these magnificent old vines (65 yrs old) are meticulously pruned to ensure vitality and healthy balanced growth. The depleted ironstone soils ensure that vigour is controlled, driving the vines to produce a small crop of intensly flavoured fruit.
- Vinification: Hand harvested to protect the integrty of the old vines, this prized crop of fruit was fermented in a small open fermenter where it was pumped over by hand twice daily. Gently pressed to tank after 7 days on skins, the Block K Shiraz was then racked into a blend of 50% new and seasoned French Oak Hogsheads where is rested for two years prior to careful barrel selection and blending prior to being bottled.
