2020 Bosstok Pinotage, MAN Family Wines
Pinotage is South Africa's own grape variety and this one is bold, bright and juicy, with flavours of red berries and a sprinkling of cinnamon and vanilla.
A fruit-forward blend of Grenache and Viognier grapes, awash with strawberries and cherries, with ripe raspberries on the finish and a waft of rose petal keeping everything fresh.
Pale gold in colour with youthful flashes of lime green, the nose is aromatic with pungent 'green' aromas of bell pepper and fresh crushed herbs. On the palate the wine is medium bodied and dry with a mouthwatering streak of minerals, hints of sub-tropical fruit and a layer of grassy gooseberry flavours that merge sublimely with the limey, crisp finish. Elegant and lengthy..
Fruity South African Chardonnay, complex and rich, flavoured with melon, tropical fruit and a dollop of butterscotch, offset by refreshing, juicy citrus notes.
A vibrant display of red and blue jubey fruits, intertwined with five spice and cinnamon. Charry oak and some herbal characters adding complexity. Palate. The soft blue and red berry characters follow on to the palate. Shiraz providing a mouthful of plush spicey-sweet fruit, whilst Tempranillo plays its hand by contributing a deliciously rustic, savoury tannin profile.
The Shiraz offers dark plum fruits, mulberries and licorice with plenty of concentration, depth and velvety tannin. The Grenache adds a lovely lusciousness to the wine with raspberry, blueberry and floral notes adding prettiness. Both of the afore mentioned varieties also give a little white pepper character which has been accentuated in the cooler vintage and really acts as a point of interest. Finally, the Mourvedre provides a perception of elegance and restraint through its red fruits with a hint of dried herb and fine chalky tannin.
Aussie Cabernet-Merlot blend that is classic Hunter Valley: a mouthful of red and black berries, a nose full of spice and a lovely balance between the two.
Vegan friendly. A generous and easy drinking Pinot Vibrant and lively wine with forest floor notes on the nose, along with strawberries and cranberry. Subtle notes of raspberry and rose petal mesh with vanilla bean pod and spicy oak. Bright cherry notes backed by a crunchy acidity and fine tannin base. Hints of red berry fruits and a distinct savoury touch give this wine a complex varietal character with long length of flavour.
